Duradry Film DF08 Dural Substitute - Technodry
Mechanism of action: during the surgical procedure, it replaces the dura mater, protecting the nervous system while preventing CSF leakage.
Its action creates a chemotactic environment, attracting macrophages that promote resorption of the collagen matrix.
The non-toxicity characteristic of the manufacturing process allows the survival of fibroblasts carried by the macrophages, which deposit new, native collagen that initiates reconstruction of the injured tissue, in this case permanently replacing the dura mater.
Applications: neurosurgical and/or orthopedic procedures involving injury or loss of the dura mater; dura mater repair after excision or retraction during cranial surgery; brain protection in cases of intraoperative or postoperative swelling; posterior fossa surgery; decompression procedures; spine surgery; and resection of intradural tumors.
Duradry film is a waterproof membrane made from an organic matrix of polymerized, purified type I collagen, indicated for the repair and correction of dura mater defects. Duradry film's major market differentiator is its suturable property.
