Endoscopes with different viewing angles of 0° and 30° provide perspectives of brain anatomy that are not possible with the microscope, allowing the neurosurgeon to perform broader, more precise, and safer surgical interventions.

Transsphenoidal surgery is the most common procedure for removing a pituitary gland tumor.

Instead of opening the skull in a traditional craniotomy, the neurosurgeon reaches the tumor through the nasal passages and sphenoid sinus. This less invasive approach allows the neurosurgeon to avoid important brain structures by accessing the pituitary gland from below the brain.
