Duraseal Sealant - Integra

The DuraSeal dural sealant system is a fully synthetic, absorbable material designed to help surgeons create an intraoperative watertight seal when used as an adjunct to standard dural repair methods.

The sealant is effective, easy to apply, and used as a suture adjunct during cranial dura mater repair surgery to provide a watertight closure.

An innovative leader in surgical biomaterial sealants, it forms a liquid-tight seal within seconds of application and includes sterile components for preparing an innovative hydrogel sealant and an applicator.

The absorbable synthetic sealant is made of two solutions: a polyethylene glycol (PEG) ester solution and a trilysine amine solution (referred to as the "blue" and "clear" precursors, respectively).

When mixed, the cross-linking precursors form the hydrogel sealant.

Preparation takes less than 2 minutes, it sets within 3 seconds, and is absorbed within about 4 to 8 weeks, allowing time for healing.
