Raney Hemostatic Clip - Ventura

The hemostatic clip is an injection-molded polyacetal plastic device in a cone shape, approximately 16 mm wide with a diameter of 7.6 mm.

One face of the clip has a rectangular slot that allows a suitable surgical instrument to be inserted to open the clip

On the face opposite the rectangular slot, the clip has a serrated edge along its full length, which allows it to open when the clip applicator is used.

The angle of the clip wall and its uneven thickness ensure the clip jaws contract in opposing forces, producing a mechanical compression effect on the tissue held between the jaws.

The clip's serrated edge applies pressure to the subcutaneous tissue that is normally above the pressure exerted by the microvasculature, achieving hemostasis without destroying subcutaneous tissue or adjacent microcirculation. This allows for faster healing with a lower potential for dehiscence.
