Head Force Surgical Cement for Cranioplasty - Safira
Head Force - Surgical Cement for Cranioplasty is a self-curing, self-polymerizing acrylic compound obtained by mixing a powder component and a liquid component.
The powder component is made of a methyl methacrylate polymer and barium sulfate with a polymerization initiator, benzoyl peroxide; the liquid component is made of methyl methacrylate monomer with an NN dimethyl-p-toluidine activator.
Head Force - Surgical Cement for Cranioplasty is indicated for repairing cranial defects and cranioplasties. When the monomer and polymethyl methacrylate are brought into contact (properly mixed), the NN dimethyl-p-toluidine activates the benzoyl peroxide, which starts polymerization.
The process is progressive: the liquid product gradually becomes doughy in the initial moments until it reaches a solidifying mass state.
The reaction is exothermic, with maximum temperatures around 70°C, which may vary depending on volume and heat dissipation and can reach up to 90°C.
